Hunting, Halloween, and Happy Girls

It has been too long since I've updated this! We have been so busy this fall. I shot the elk this year. I got a cow on Clay's birthday (Oct. 15). It was on the big hunt up Grey's River and it was a lot of fun.
We have been working on getting a wood stove installed. Of course we are doing it ourselves and it is taking an extra long time. At least we have all our firewood cut and stacked.

Halloween was fun this year. Macy was so excited to be a ladybug! She got this trick-or-treating figured out and thought it was so cool. She kept asking why we go to people's house and get candy. I know...kind of a strange tradition. But she loved it and especially loved the candy!

Emry is six months old now. She is such a joy and is happy all the time! She is eating baby food, rolling all around and sitting up. She loves her big sister and is so entertained by her. Emry was a bumblebee for Halloween and she loved the excitement of it all. She will have to wait on the candy until next year. I was a flower (with the bumble bee on me) and Clay was the bee keeper.

Muddy Macy This is just Macy playing in our yard. She always finds a way to change her clothes 5 times a day.

Emry is now 4 months old and is just a bright eyed bundle of joy!

Farewell Piepers! We are really going to miss Ben, Jamie and the boys. They are moving to Arizona this week. We hope they don't melt in the hot sun. We got to spend a couple days with them last week in Laramie. Macy and Ike have been such good playmates since they were born. We are going to miss seeing them often. But we look forward to AZ at Christmas time!

Martin's Cove Trek

We went on a trek at Martin's Cove and Sixth Crossing site with our stake. We pulled handcarts reenacting the Mormon Pioneer migration. It was a lot of fun for our little family. We were in a handcart group with others from our ward totaling 10 people. We camped for 3 nights and walked around 5 miles a day. It was neat to cross the Sweetwater river like the pioneers did and to go into Martin's cove where 56 people died during the winter of 1856. Our girls traveled well. We took turns carrying them or pushing them in the cart.

After our trek we went to Laramie to spend the 4th with my family. We sure enjoyed the last "rendezvous" in Laramie before everyone moves. Macy especially loved the Fireworks and playing with Isaac. Baby Zachary was very cute. We concluded that he and Emry are opposites. She is bald and fat and he is skinny and hairy. It will be fun to watch them grow and change.

Today Macy got her first haircut! She looks so grown up! Here are these pics to show off the new "doo."

Emry's Baby Blessing

Emry is already one month old! That went fast!...a lot faster than the previous month when we couldn't wait for her to arrive. We had her baby blessing on April 26th. All of our parents and siblings were able to be here. It was so special. Clay's mom made this beautiful blessing dress. It was adorable on our little angel. Here are some pictures to commemorate the event.
Isaac and Macy are still great buddies. We are excited for the next little cousin to be born soon! Then Emry will have a little playmate too.

It's a girl!!!

We are happy to announce what the Easter bunny brought us this year....Emry Elizabeth! This sweet little girl was born on 4/11/09 at 4:22 pm. She is weighing in a heafty 8lbs 3oz. She's 20.5 inches long, has cute chubby cheeks and dark hair. We are so happy with our new little angel! Big sister Macy is thrilled also and got to come see her at the hospital. She held her and kissed her and said, "Mommy, I love her." It was the sweetest thing ever.

Other labor details: We have been praying for the baby to come since she was overdue and I didn't want to have to be induced. Contractions started at 3:30 am on the 11th. We hung around Pinedale, not sure of when to head to Jackson (78 miles away). We decided to take Macy to the community Easter egg hunt which she loved! Then we got in the car and headed out after that. The drive wasn't too comfortable for me being in labor, but we survived. Clay's family met us in Jackson to take Macy back home with them in Afton. We messed around in Jackson, walked around down town to kill time. Then at around 3:00 pm we decided it was time to check into the hospital. I was already dialated to an 8. The dr. came, broke my water, I soaked in the hot tub for a little while and then it was time to push. Emry was born an hour 1/2 after getting to the hospital. We were glad labor was over and we are all doing very well.

We were surprised Emry was a she; we were kind of getting the blue ready this time. It was fun to have this surprise and we are so happy to have this little angel as part of our family. We chose her name because we like "Emily" but wanted something a little more unique. We had several names picked out, but Emry seems to fit. Elizabeth is after the mother of John the Baptist. It will be fun for our little girls to be good playmates and friends. We are glad to get to go home today (Easter).

Still Waiting

No baby yet. It feels like this baby is never going to come, but we're trying to be patient. We are very excited and can't wait to meet this little one! Here are some of our favorite preg pics. My belly is huge!!!

Trip to Kansas

We got in a trip to Kansas before the new baby is born. Babies travel a lot better when still inside than after they are born, and they take a lot less stuff. Macy was excited to go to "see jayhawks in Kan-nas." We did get to watch KU play basketball on tv. Macy and I drove to Laramie and then went to NE with my parents where we got to watch Uncle Andy play basketball. Macy cheered so loud for him; I thought she might loose her voice. She repeated anything she heard our group yell. She gets the loud cheering gene from her Daddy! It was really entertaining. Then we traveled with Jamie and Isaac all the way to Kansas. It was two pregnant ladies and two 2-yr olds. But considering, it was a fun and successful trip. We got to see the Grandmas and lots of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. The weather was pretty nice so we enjoyed time at the park with Grandma Pokorny.
